| A key component to recognition and
identification of species is the habitat in which they are found.
The NatureMapping
program will use general habitat types in most cases.
Experts should feel free to be
specific with the use of the in depth coding system provided (use the link at left to access Habitat Codes).
A short description of the site or any unusual information about the site is appreciated
and useful.
Currently, a broad overview of vegetation types is found at the Digital Atlas of Idaho 2000 web
site. Go to the Atlas, visit the Idaho Overview, and select Vegetation from the pull-down
menu. In the future, the NatureMapping site will expand to include more information about
Idaho's habitats. |
