Syringa’s Return:
In the Lewis and Clark exhibit at the Idaho State Historical Museum in Boise, visitors will see Syringa, the Idaho State Flower. But this is no ordinary Syringa. This particular specimen was collected 200 years ago by Meriwether Lewis.

The Essential Horse
Lewis & Clark admired the Nez Perce Tribe's spotted horses, later called Appaloosas, the Idaho State Horse. Elder Rosa Yearout and her husband are carefully breeding descendants of great Chief Ollokot's "Old Herd" to maintain their historic lineage

Valuing Beaver

Grizzly – Fascination and Fear
Grizzlies are huge, smart and unpredictable. They both fascinated and intimidated Expedition members. Idaho Department of Fish and Game biologist Lauri Hanauska-Brown studies and respects these important animals, and loves her job.
