Program Summary and Segments
“In Step with Lewis and Clark” is a 12-part radio series developed by the Idaho Museum of Natural History, the state’s official museum
of natural history, located in Pocatello, Idaho. The series will be broadcast on NPR affiliate stations throughout Idaho and eastern Washington between June and November 2006. “In Step” looks The series uses a variety of recognized verbal and non-verbal methods such as interviews, ambient sound, music, and silence, and includes readings from the Lewis and Clark journals, on-site recordings and conversations with knowledgeable and interesting people. Using these tools of the storyteller’s art, the series investigates the unique plants and animals, harsh climate, challenging landscape and helpful Native Americans that the Expedition encountered. Each segment tells its story through a unique thematic lens. The series is co-produced by the Idaho Museum of Natural History and KISU 91.1 FM, National Public Radio affiliate on the Idaho State University campus in Pocatello.
