Collections

IMNH holds collections in three different divisions—Anthropology, Earth Sciences, and Life Sciences—that cover the local natural and cultural heritage of Idaho and the Northern Intermountain West. Significant holdings are the vertebrate paleontology collection, the ethnology collection which contains an extensive holding of Shoshone-Bannock tribal basketry, and the collections from the Wasden Site, which is listed on the National Register for historic places.

Boise's KTVB television reporter Alyson Oüten visited IMNH a while back.Click here for her behind the scenes tour of our collections: Ancient Artifacts Revealed
