What do fossils tell us?

Fossils give us a glimpse into the long story of life on Earth and the change which all living things have experienced ~ from the Trilobites living in Idaho's warm shallow sea 500 million years ago to the Equus simplicidens who lived near Lake Idaho 3 million years ago.
Fossil remains tell us about the creature's habitats and the conditions under which they lived in the past. The fossilized teeth can help us understand what a prehistoric creature ate and the bones help us understand how they moved,
